Board of Education -
The comments regarding the Board of Education's hiring of Diaz makes you wonder WHY? How can five people, who supposedly have the best interests of children and employees at heart, make such bad decisions?
We need to examine the background and motives of the individual board members. Look at the votes each one casts, just like you would a politician. After all, that is what these people are, politicians. If they can't stand scrutiny of their actions, they should not be in an elected position.
This blogger has long believed that the Board knew and endorsed the termination of Bob Ogas. No Superintendent that wants to keep his/her job would make a decision with that much explosive potential without the Board's blessing. Louis Martinez was not bought out because of the Ogas fracas. He was bought out because of his rude reaction to a phone call from a child.
It follows that the Board of Education endorses the current Superintendent's actions. How can such egregious behavior be overlooked, dismissed and tacitly endorsed by their silence and inaction?
The blame for Diaz's behavior and actions must be laid squarely at the feet of the Board of Education.

This smells like a familiar smell, but I can not quite place it. Ah yes, I remember, Jessie Gonzales. Does anyone remember what happened to those school board members?

The Board of Education have behaved consistently as bullies. Simply put, they hired a bully and they are supporting an environment of harassment and intimidation.
