Thursday Morning Comments

Dear Dr.Diaz: So that I can understand the power of your statement "Doing God's Work", can you explain how that fits with your comment to five people at your table in your office about Sharon Wooden? You stated," I never pay attention to her, as she is always asleep". Then you made a zipping motion across your mouth. How does that kind of disrespect in front of your subordinates about the President of the School Board fit into your plan to do "God's Work?" Most theology of world religions would rebuke your comments. Additionally, your participation at a picnic at Leonel Briseno's home in August with parents of students with dyslexia was peppered with comments about principals and central office staff being "incompetent, lazy, and uneducated". So, one would assume that the faith that you and Mr. Briseno support is one that demeans, humiliates, and causes pain. Please identify the theology you attach yourself behind, so I can avoid any connection with it.

The above website takes you to the interview with KVIA channel 7 reporter Jayme Rubenstein. Please listen to part 1 and 2. Dr. Diaz clearly contradicts what she said the day before on the Michael Swickard show. Lie number 2??? or more?

--
I viewed Dr. Sonia Diaz' interview with channel 7 (kvia.com). In the interview, she posits that morale may have improved with principals since she took over. Unbelievable! To the LCPS School Board: Please send out an anonymous survey of administrator perception of Dr. Diaz. I have no doubt you would find almost complete agreement that Dr. Diaz has destroyed our morale! The witch needs to go! Come on school board, WAKE UP!!!!

Hmm....since "our lady of lcps" is doing "God's" work....and she's a total narcissist that would make all the employees who may or may not worship the one true GOD, the "children of a lesser god"? Her comments which Jo Galvan proved to be a lie must then be.......the immaculate deception or in Lonnie's case the immaculate perception since he seems to worship her and her god. How dare she invoke "God" when we just got the federal case dropped for the name and logo of the city. I hope she didn't re-stir up a hornets nest by her comments. I'm cancelling my subscription to the Sun_news....it's a rag anyway.

By the way, Sonia might be on to something with her "finding religion" comment; now Mr. Weinbaum can file a new suit. Instead of taking religious symbols out of the schools, he can take the crazy-religious superintendent out of the school system!

--
We must find good candidates for the school board election in February. Start talking to everyone you know about candidates for the districts of Wooden and Schwebke. Just in case we are stuck with this board, we need to elect two new members in February. Now is the time to organize.

--
Couldn't this $47,000 have been spent purchasing books for high school classes that have to share books because there are not enough for each student? Hmm...imagine what our children could be learning if they could take a book home EVERY night!?--
Thanks Dr. Diaz! How was the view in Cloudcroft? Blogger comment: Diaz stayed in the “Honeymoon Suite” of the Lodge at Cloudcroft. But, I am sure her view was nothing compared to the view from the Waldorf in NYC. Diaz complained during the whole retreat that everything about the Lodge was "inadequate and substandard."

--
Real-life propaganda techniques: Sonia does the LCPS vs. Auschwitz front gate greeting "Work Will Set You Free"! Which one do you believe?

--
Hey, Earl...define sanity!

--
According to my elementary school principal this morning, not only are they going to reinstate Diaz after Thanksgiving, but also she told us that Wooden and Schwebke are going to resign four months early.

--
All I have to say is that at least former Supt. Martinez had the decency to return e-mails & phone calls of average Joes like myself. Supt. Diaz does not seem to have the time or the need to communicate with the citizens that pay her salary and address concerns. The LCPS board needs to "bird dog" her spending and hiring practices so we here in LC will not be left "in the hole" as far as the budget is concerned

As an LCPS employee, I am sick of this whole "mess" and would like to get back to teaching. Apparently, we cannot trust the board to look out for our interests. Perhaps, we, the teachers, should take action to express our dissatisfaction with the current situation. I know it is not necessarily "Ethical" and is not in the bargaining agreement...but, maybe if the teachers "strike" somebody will finally do something. Cancel school until this is settled and add those days onto the end of the school year. Then, I'll bet the whole community will take notice of a very bad situation. Also, while we are funding all kinds of "perks" for these people, hard working classified staff have yet to receive a written contract. What gives??

--
This makes me sick to my stomach that our children are putting $$ into the vending machines and our upper-administrators are sitting in Cloudcroft having tea for a few days!!

ACK!!

This is also posted at Heath Haussamen's blog after reading lots of comments that support Diaz:

Folks, its time for a little critical thinking. I know its hard, and we all want to go back to watching Dancing with the Stars, but pull out your thinking caps and sit still a minute before you jump to any conclusions here.

In this situation, it is best NOT to use a TV interview with Diaz as the decisive means of determining if she has your support. We all need to look at facts, documented history and evidence presented through the testamony of those who have worked with her, who I assure you, are not all crazy, selfish, petty people. Where there is smoke, there is fire, and it appears there is a WHOLE LOTTA SMOKE pouring out of Ms. Diaz's tenure, and now she is trying to do damage control before too many people see it.

I suggest those who are interested GOOGLE the definition of sociopath. You will find that sociopaths are not all serial killers and criminal masterminds. Sometimes they exist relatively normally among us, like the book says, "Next Door". Like many personality or mental disorders, people can have a cluster of traits of sociopathy as opposed to a full blown case, and yet still function in society, even though most who know them feel like something is wrong, something is missing from their characters. As a matter of fact, the more educated and the higher the socio-economic status they are in, the better they come off as normal, and can rationalize what they do ( remember OJ Simpson, Jack Abramoff, the boys at Enron anyone?).

What they are extremely good at is conning people: presenting themselves, depending on the setting, in a way that is charming, intelligent, and attractive. It it a form of shape shifting they use to manipulate people in order to go about their business. Like a used car salesman, they size up the characteristics of their audience, what they want to hear, what makes them vulnerable to their lies, and then portray that. TV is their best medium to accomplish this.

Its important to not allow yourself to be conned, but to demand answers to substantive questions about this woman's past, her time here, and what we can expect for our future if our board continues to be so negligent in their oversight of our school system.

Dr. Diaz,

I want to amend my Professional Development Plan as follows:

Goal #4: Do God's work with children!

Is that good with you?

I hear that the Director of Transportation and the Director of Securty regularly serve as Dr. Diaz' personal chauffeur. What a great use of employees - every superintendent should have two chauffeurs - especially ones that are paid about $70,000 per year each! Great use of our directors Dr. Diaz!

By the way, when our securty director is driving you around town at your beckon call, who is protecting our kids? Nevermind, I forgot, kids are not YOUR priorty. My bad!
