Wednesday Morning - 11-8

KVIA Channel 7 covered the closed board meeting today. They quoted this blog website several times. Interview with Dr. Diaz was just as nebulous as the interview on 570 Radio with Michael Swickard. She seems to be a master of deception and corruption!

I just watched the KVIA news clip and Dr. Diaz claimed outright that the job given to Marsillio was advertised. Was it? Did I miss it? Cause I check the job openings almost daily and I didn't see it. I also did not see it in the LC Sun News. Did anyone else see it advertised? Also, did they interview the proper amount of candidates? I think she just bold faced lied.

I am a concerned LCPS employee. This is my first post (i.e. I am not 1 or 2 frustrated people). November 28th is a date. Lack of effective leadership is a real issue here. I think that Ms. Diaz should share her 'vision' with the district and make herself accessible if she wants support. Obviously, her advanced degrees did not help her learn how to LEAD. As the saying goes, "Lead, follow, or get out the way." Educating children is what the top priority should be - it is why most of us want to be in this field - not power plays.

Will the Board do the right thing??? Dr. Diaz needs to be placed on administrative leave so the Board can conduct a full investigation. As long as she is 'on the job' fear will override LCPS staff's ability to be open and honest about their disgraceful and demeaning behavior. Everything horror story you hear is true. The Board needs to wake up--LCPS had developed a strong literacy initiative way before Dr. Dark graced the school district's door! This is the Board's last chance to show they have any sense at all!

Interesting stuff from the Bridgeport Connecticut newspaper about our illustrious super, her chauffeur (darn Sonia, I spelled that right and didn't even go to Harvard), and the deficit she left behind. We need to get rid of this lousy school board because 3 strikes and your out will be too late for our children!

Is it true that Mr. John Marsilio was hired as the School Business Manager without the licensure required under New Mexico Public Education licensure requirements? If this is true can anyone work for Dr. Diaz for $125,000? Where do I apply?

Thank you, Mr. Marsilio, for your rude and offensive comments at Leadership. The Professional Development Center has posted a Master Calendar for at least five years. Too bad you did not have the courtesy to ask before you spoke. Clearly, your East Coast knowledge is far superior to those individuals who have chosen to make this community their home. Thank you for the great introduction!

Does anyone know anything about the employee hearing on Nov. 16?

Where can we find information on the board, biography, work history, qualifications, etc.? They seem to not exist.

Is the Land of Enchantment so short of crooks it has to import them from Nuyawk and Connecticut?

Teacher, parents, community - it is time for us to "unite" against this chick so teachers can get back to teaching and students can get back to learning. After all, isn't education about CHILDREN? All this gal is going to do is run off all the good teachers. That new material was not needed or wanted. A good teacher knows what to teach and would have been just fine with the materials already in place. What a waste of OUR MONEY!

With reference to the contract for "she who will remain nameless", the Sun News could certainly request a copy since school contracts and payment are all public information. As to the fears that email accounts may be reviewed, this would pertain to anything going through the LCPS email system. All staff members sign an Acceptable Use Policy agreement and this does include a statement that use of district computing resources must be in support of the district's educational goals and objectives. I suspect that blogging about Lady Voldemort would NOT fall in this approved category. If the district has not blocked access to all blogspot addresses, it is just a matter of time. Readers of the posting might also want to use their home computers since the web "surfing" history of every school owned computer can be monitored and accessed remotely. While this would be impractical to do for some employees, it could be done easily for those targeted.

Remember that the teachers at Zia wrote letters to rid themselves of their last administrators. They are used to getting their way. Thacker was put in there to bring some order and get them back on track. How sad that Dr. Diaz did not support her in that effort, because they are out of hand.

How do you create a positive attitude by treating people the way "she" does. Taking a phone away from an employee while she is talking on it, harassing the people. Warning people not to say anything. Didn't she try to get one of the employee's that was leaving to sign a paper not to say anything or talk to anybody about the situation? I would like to know the truth.

I would encourage all administrators, princials, faculty, staff, and parents to start calling school board members. I would encourage the community to start raising private donations to "buy out" Dr. Diaz's contract. I would further encourage this group to raise funds to start a recall of this inept, biased and vindictive board.

Jack Jenkins, Dr. Patton and J. Laws did not leave of their own volition. Their duties were systematically removed by the board and Dr. Diaz. They were left out of meetings dealing with their areas of expertise, and their duties given to "new kids on the block". A great management style comes into a new business, new venture- evaluates current programs and visions, takes time (more than one month) to facilitate change. Most leave as is for at least 6 months to a year. If we do not hurry...no money will be left in the LCPS budget for our kids! As an administrator, I am scared to death to work in such a hostile environment. Retaliation is her middle name!

I am LCPS employee and checked with HR about whether the job was posted - it was not! Dr. Diaz lied about this on TV!!! There was no advertizement and no interview process. We don't need a liar as a leader - it is time for her to go!!!

It is ironic that Diaz has brought in "Consultants" and "Transition Team Members" from out of the district, yet all teaching-job-postings are labeled that only in-district personel are eligible for the job. I know of two very experienced teachers from GISD, one with 28 years exprience, that have tried to get hired by LCPS but are turned down for being previously employed by another district.

Anything with Michael Swickard PHD must be taken with a knowledge of his agenda and live in girlfriend who has a vestid interest in the promotion of "her" promoted reading program at Valley View. What a scam!!!
