Saturday Morning

1. “A recall is really in order. Conflict of interest is one ongoing concern. With the monthly reading meetings, two board members participate; one participates with his wife who is a teacher.

In other instances, two board members canvassed central office employees during the beginning of the school year, asking what the employees thought of the superintendent. After having reported the comments back to the superintendent, the two employees were questioned about the statements.

Of course, having a party is a personal "right"; however, having the superintendent present and making comments about staff is certainly not professional and should have not been allowed by the board member.A recall is costly and timely.

Unseating the two school board members up for re-election is crucial. If this does not happen, then, certainly a recall is in order.”

2.” As a Las Cruces community member, it is my clear understanding that Diaz has been directed by the school board to make "certain" heads roll. The despicable, demeaning and humiliating methods used to oust Joann Patton, Jerry Laws and Jack Jenkins at LCPS were Diaz "methods of operation" but ultimately she is doing the bidding of the school board.

If this is the school boards idea of building a foundation for solid public education, supporting children and teachers in the classroom, creating trust, healing old wounds, and good leadership I'd hate to see their take on destruction, manipulation, fiscal mismanagement, lack of scruples and none existent ethics.

It's time for members of the community to hold the school board responsible and accountable for hiring Diaz and their involvement in LCPS at a level that is not "policy" setting.

The new "advisory" committees are not policy related. Make no mistake, the committees are the vehicle for even greater micro-management by the school board of LCPS”

3. “Dr. Wooden and Mr. Schwebke are up for re-election in February. It is important that they are NOT re-elected.

Would you please keep readers informed of any individuals interested in running for these two positions?

If you unseat two you are still out numbered by the three that are left. I am not sure that is enough!

I grew up in NM, was educated in NM and worked in NM public education. After 30 years in the field I can honestly say I never encountered such blatant malfeasance as practiced by
Diaz (who doesn't deserve the title of "doctor" of education) and the LC NM BOE. Maybe God will forgive them; the people of NM won't!

one common denominator in this picture is the SCHOOL BOARD> Nothing but chaos since they became the BOARD and ended Mr. Gonzales time with LCPS. They are just as much to blame for the dismantling of this district as their hires! If not more. They have their agenda--is it kids and teachers-I don't think so
